Music key analyzer. — DDDDeeeeJ
Drop a clip, detect its musical key in Camelot notation (8A, 9B), read BPM, and filter a private DJ library built for harmonic mixing.
DDDDeeeeJ runs Krumhansl–Schmuckler key detection on your audio and maps every result onto the Camelot wheel — the same notation Traktor, rekordbox, and CDJs use. Detected tracks land in your per-user library, filterable by key and BPM for harmonic mixing. Paste a YouTube link and yt-dlp pulls the audio through the same pipeline. Your library stays private to your account.
How it works — from clip to Camelot key in three steps
Upload a clip
Drop an MP3, WAV, or YouTube link. No account required to run a detection.
Read the key
Krumhansl–Schmuckler analyzes the audio and reports the key in Camelot/Traktor notation, with BPM alongside.
Mix by key
Save the result to your library and filter by Camelot key to find harmonically compatible neighbors on the wheel.
Features — key detection, wheel, and library, no fluff
Key detection
Krumhansl–Schmuckler key analysis with BPM, reported in Camelot/Traktor notation (8A, 9B). An accurate song key and BPM finder for any clip.
Camelot wheel
Interactive 24-key visualization. See every track in your library on the wheel, spot harmonic-mixing neighbors, filter by key.
Per-user library
Every detected track is saved to your account. Filter by key and BPM; your library is never public.
YouTube downloader
Paste a link, yt-dlp downloads the audio, and the same pipeline detects its key and BPM.
FAQ — short answers
What is Camelot notation?[+][–]
Camelot maps the 24 musical keys onto a numbered wheel (1A–12B) where neighboring positions are harmonically compatible. DJs use it to mix in key by moving one step on the wheel. DDDDeeeeJ reports keys in Camelot and Traktor notation, so results read directly on CDJs and in rekordbox.
How accurate is key detection?[+][–]
Detection uses the Krumhansl–Schmuckler algorithm over the full clip and locks the result to the Camelot grid. It is fast and consistent, though no algorithm is infallible — re-analyze any clip, and use the wheel view to compare candidates.
What formats are supported?[+][–]
MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, and most formats the browser can read, plus YouTube links via yt-dlp. Each analysis runs on the clip you upload.
Is my library private?[+][–]
Yes. Tracks are stored per user account and analysis runs for your session only. No public profile, no sharing, no training on your tracks.
